     <description><![CDATA[<p>Middlesex High School<br />Middlesex, VA<br /><br />The MPNNCSB Prevention Services staff will be offering the Family Education Program for parents and their children, ages 5-11. The program is a 15-week course designed to increase family communication, cooperation, closeness, and respect. Parents and children - meeting separately and together - learn to handle feelings, communicate needs, understand each other better, take charge of their own behaviors, feel good about themselves, enjoy each other and have fun. Practical, effective techniques are taught for handling challenging behavior and conflicts. The group takes place in a supportive and nurturing atmosphere and is free of charge.      <title><![CDATA[Teen Conflict Resolution Training ]]></title>

     <description><![CDATA[<p>Berryman Center<br />400 W. 32nd St.<br />Richmond, VA<br /><br />The Richmond Youth Peace Project--an initiative of the Richmond Peace Education Center--will offer a free two-day conflict resolution workshop for teens. The program is open to young people 8th grade to age 20. Space is limited to 25 participants. The workshop will introduce participants to a variety of conflict resolution techniques to use in their own lives, and to share with other young people. Participants will also receive training in how to plan and present sessions for school and youth groups. Lunch and training materials will be provided. Participants can also earn community service credit by participating. Young people who successfully complete this workshop become eligible to serve as youth trainers.
